Bupa Beginnings is a free and interactive guide to the Australian health system when having a baby – and you don’t need to be a Bupa member to use it. The tool aims to support you with clear and helpful information on your health and care options and costs, from the moment you start planning a baby, through your pregnancy and childbirth, and into the early months of your child’s life.
By registering and logging in to Bupa Beginnings, you'll be able to create and revisit an experience as personal as your journey to parenthood. And if you're a Bupa member you'll get the added benefit of information tailored specifically to your level of cover and location.
The tool will break down what the likely costs will be for your pregnancy depending on whether you’d like to have your baby through the private or public health system. It’s broken down into who covers what between Bupa, Medicare and you, so you’ll have a clearer expectation of what your out-of-pocket costs might be.
As you plan your pregnancy journey, you’ll be able to compare costs for public vs private, different levels of health insurance cover and, if you have a budget in mind, you can even adjust your choices to fit.
Once you’ve chosen the options you’re comfortable with, Bupa Beginnings will show you the likely costs and contributions for those options in an easy-to-read table and graph.
Bupa Beginnings is free and you don't need to be a Bupa member to use it.
